Who Is Rayshawn Mc Graphik Harris?

Richmond native Rayshawn Mc Graphik Harris was born May 13, 1987 in M.C.V hospital located in the downtown area of Richmond VA. He began his life living in the Jackson Ward Projects with his mother, which marked only the beginning of many trials and tribulations he would soon face. With his father being in and out of jail due to heavy participation in the drug game, Graphik was already faced with much to bear at young age. Sadly, things would soon only get worse for him. His mother suffered from a dangerous addiction to crack cocaine, a addiction that came with a heavy price to pay! Due to his mothers actions from her addiction he tragically lost two of his siblings, Brittany and Savon Harris in the early 90's. Soon thereafter, he was placed in the custody of his grandparents Marlene and Larry Harris. Making a transition to the southside area of Richmond he began running the streets, mainly around the Hopkins rd and Broad Rock areas. The events of his recent past reflected highly in his attitude and behavior. He had grown bitter, pretty much having a ~I dont give a fuck" mentality, causing him to be kicked out of numerous schools. Some may have thought that all hope was lost for him but, he soon would find a release. Graphik found a passion inside of him that not only leveled him out but helped him to cope with life as well. Music! Music became his breath of fresh air through the many storms he had and was facing. It was also his way of publicly displaying his story, reaching out for a ear to listen. Some may not understand his music or his passion for it but, he thrives to make visible his undeniable truth. Graphik is truly a star on the rise, having more than 175 tracks on record with over 5 mixtapes and counting. Amazingly talented he not only shines as a artist but also as a producer, beat maker, mixes, and graphic designer. Working hard in such aspects not only for his selfmade tracks but, for his upcoming label and movement as well. Destined for greatness Graphik is focused, determined, and pushing strong to makes his dreams and aspirations a marvelous reality. He does so in memory of his grandparents in which he will always thrive to never let down!

In May 2012, West remixed Chief Keef's "I Don't Like." Keef spoke about this remix soon after the track was released. “He did reach out to me by doing a song,” Keef said at the time. “I know he wouldn’t do that to anybody. He really don’t give a fuck. Meek Mill Says He's 70 Percent Done With New Album

Meek Mill says he is working on his new album and announces that it is slated for a Spring release. Meek Mill says he is 70 percent done with work for his new album, set to be released this year. “I’m working on my album right now [which is] coming out in the Spring,” Meek said in an interview with VladTV. “I’m about 70 percent done." Last year, Mill released his debut studio album, Dreams And Nightmares. Dreams and Nightmares earned a 3 out of 5 rating from HipHopDX at the time of its release. "With Dreams & Nightmares it’s clear that Rick Ross’ protégé needs more time before he can rightfully call himself the lieutenant of the MMG army," HipHopDX said at the time. "Rozay didn’t exactly come out the gate with universal acceptance on his debut Port of Miami either, arguably taking two to three albums before finally establishing himself as a respected artist. If you count his more recent Dreamchasers series and pieces of the two Maybach Music Group compilations, Meek Mill is on the verge of obtaining his stamp of approval. With that said, consider this project a dream that could be forgotten by mid-day." In January, Meek posted a Twitter update about his plans for his next album release. "My next album is all that matters #specialdelivery #2014," he said in one Twitter update.

Teacher Suspended For Including Lil Wayne Lyrics In Homework Assignment

A South Florida eighth grade English teacher was suspended for asking students to underline examples of figurative language in Lil Wayne's "6 Foot 7 Foot." A South Florida eighth grade English teacher of The Charter Schools of Boynton Beach has been suspended after assigning Lil Wayne lyrics as part of a homework assignment to her students. One parent, Vanessa Guzman, spoke with WPTV in Florida, regarding her disapproval of the teacher's assignment, which included directions to underline examples of figurative language in Lil Wayne's Cory Gunz-assisted "6 Foot 7 Foot" lyrics. "This is crazy," Guzman said in a WPTV report. "They shouldn't be giving this to kids in school...I'm uncomfortable reading any of this...They shouldn't be teaching this stuff in school for language arts. I mean, who in their right mind would give kids something like this?" An excerpt from "6 Foot 7 Foot's" follows: Two bitches at the same time, synchronized swimmers Got the girl twisted cause she open when you twist her Never met the bitch, but I fuck her like I missed her Life is the bitch, and death is her sister Sleep is the cousin, what a fuckin' family picture The school headmaster, Wayne Owens, addressed the matter with a statement. "The lesson was for students to learn to identify literary devices," Owens said. "The teacher had already introduced Edgar Allen Poe and Shakespeare. Students were having difficulty grasping the concepts of literary devices such as: pun, simile, metaphor, so the teacher used colloquial material. This material did not meet the school's standards and was not approved. The teacher recognizes that it was totally inappropriate for a school assignment." Guzman says she understands the motivation behind assigning this task, but still holds that it is "not appropriate at all." The teacher, who had "an unblemished record" has been suspended for three days, according to WPTV.

Joe Budden Talks New Solo Project, Slaughterhouse LP, Tahiry & Kendrick Grammy Snub

Joe Budden Says Eminem Has Limited Involvement On Slaughterhouse Album

Joe Budden calls Slaughterhouse's upcoming album, "Glass House," the group's "most personal body of work to date." Following the release of 2012’s welcome to: Our House, Shady Records’ own Slaughterhouse is gearing up for the release of their third studio album, Glass House. According to Slaughterhouse emcee Joe Budden, the album is slated for release either late spring or early summer. In addition to revealing an approximate release date for the album, Budden shared a few other details about the LP during a recent interview. While speaking with Hip Hop Since 1987, Budden spoke on Shady Records helmsman Eminem’s involvement on the project. He says Em played a limited role on the album due to the fact that he was working on an album of his own. “Well, this time around he was also working on his album while we were working on our album,” Budden said. “So, he hasn’t gotten a chance or the opportunity to be as involved as he was last time, but he still gives suggestions. He still lends his input via phone or still communicates as much as he can, however he can.” Budden, who currently serves as a star on the VH1 reality series “Love & Hip Hop,” referred to Slaughterhouse’s upcoming album as a “transparent” project that is the group’s “most personal” album to date. And although he commented on Just Blaze executive producing Glass House, he remained tight-lipped about artist features and producers on his next solo project, All Love Lost. “We locked in with Just Blaze who is executive producing Slaughterhouse’s third studio album called Glass House coming late spring, early summer on Shady/Interscope Records,” the Slaughterhouse rapper said. “The album is called Glass House because it’s extremely transparent, a very personal—by far our most personal body of work to date. I can’t wait for the fans to hear it. I have simultaneously been working on my next solo project, which is called All Love Lost. “I’m not telling anything. It’s too soon. It’s too premature,” he added. “We’re gonna keep the features at a bare minimum. The production, we’ll get into that closer to the day. But for songs that we have recorded so far, I’m extremely pleased with and I’m not going to put the album out until I’m happy with it. Like I’m really trying to take my time [with this one] and really make the album I know I’m capable of making.” In addition to speaking on the transparency of Glass House during his interview with Hip Hop Since 1987, in a post made via Twitter this month, Budden stated that the album will boast “a real Budden-esque undertone.” "Not to take credit at all, but I feel like the new Slaughterhouse album has a real Budden-esque undertone," Budden said in a tweet made on January 13. Budden’s solo album, All Love Lost, will serve as a follow up to the New Jersey wordsmith’s No Love Lost project. Released last February, the album included guest appearance from Lil Wayne, Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, and numerous other artists.

Eminem, Nas & Dr. Dre Among Performers At Beats Music Launch Party

Busta Rhymes, Pharcyde, Bone thugs-n-harmony, Method Man & Redman and Scarface also performed at the "Live Playlist" event in Los Angeles. With the launching of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s Beats Music streaming service this past Sunday (January 20), ABC is now reporting that Grammy winner and longtime Dre collaborator Eminem performed alongside other Hip Hop luminaries at the service’s Los Angeles launch party last night (January 24). Eminem joined a cast of performers on the set list that included but was not limited to Nas, Teddy Riley & Blackstreet, members of Pharcyde, and Busta Rhymes. Ma$e and Diddy also reportedly reunited on stage to perform their collaboration “It’s All About The Benjamins.” MTV reports that Macklemore attended the party, but did not perform on stage. Last night’s launch party closely precedes the airing of the 56th Annual Grammy Awards tomorrow evening (January 26). Eminem, who has been nominated for an award within the Best Rap Performance category for his hit song “Berzerk,” unveiled his public affiliation with the company in August of 2013 with a collaborative commercial during the MTV Video Music Awards announcing his latest album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Billboard cites a previous interview with the rapper’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, in an explanation of the partnership. "The partnership with Beats is the relationship with Em, Dre and Jimmy from the beginning of time," he said. "That’s really where that comes from. When we were discussing who the potential partners were going to be for this record, it was the first time that Beats was able to come in and say ‘Hey, we’re the right partner for you, because there’s obvious natural synergy, and by the way, we’re a really big company now and we can do this.'” Beats Music, a paid, subscription-based streaming service, was spawned from Dre and Iovine’s Beats Electronic. Beats Electronic, which is best known for its line of personal headphones named after the rapper/producer, joined with Monster Cable in an exclusive manufacturing partnership for three years between 2009 and 2012. Since the resolution of that contract, Beats has manufactured its own products. In late 2013, the company appointed a new Chief Operating Officer in Matthew Costello, a man previously employed by Ikea and the cell-phone manufacturer HTC which formerly owned a majority stake in the company. Beats Music is currently available for $9.99 per month and is advertising a catalog of 20 million songs. The service hopes to distinguish itself from other streaming subscriptions like Pandora, Spotify, and Slacker Radio with its own proprietary algorithm of curating music for customers. Despite its launch earlier in the week, the service has already suffered connectivity issues for some users. The company issued a statement encouraging users that were able to connect to continue utilizing the service and promised a swift fix for those who were unable to use the subscription. Beats Music also extended its free trial period to 14 days from its original week-long promotion following the announcement. The service was launched with the help of a $60 million investment from Warner Music Group owner Leonard Blavatnik’s Access Industries. Billboard also reports that besides advertisement slots throughout the NFL playoffs, Beats Music has purchased a $4 million 30-second Super Bowl advertisement slated to run on Sunday, February 2. HipHopDX has obtained a photograph of the setlist for the Los Angeles event, which can be seen below.
